Observing school-age children by RFID technology

One day old when parents are afraid of the safety of their children, a school district has decided to use modern technology to rest on these fears. Officials claim that the main reason for the program is efficiency, but it is difficult to imagine that parental concerns did not take into account the equation. Early this month, Rhode Island, Providence Rhode Island Middletown Schoolchild introduced a pilot program that includes RFID (RFID) chips in labels that are attached to children's school bags. This initial probation is about 80 children (and backpacks).

The primary reason for this tracking technologist is to track students who are driving to the bus from school. The chips record when the students turn on and off the school bus and show the bus position as they travel.

The ACLU has already objected.

Pilot program is by no means mandatory and parents have been notified ahead of time and asked who to turn to any question. Middletown hopes the program will promote better communication between parents. Pilot participating parents will be able to visit a website to see when the kids come to the bus and see if the bus is arriving on time.

An official compared the program with programs that allow parents to check their children's attendance register or buy their children for lunch. (I warned you to find out what the baby was buying – you really can not know that a child really ate for lunch.) And that's not the point – sophistication, life is still full of variables. The parent checks the website and sees that according to RFID their child is still in school. At the same moment the kid could walk through the door after leaving the backpack in their bedroom.

However, it is possible for a child to be on a bus that had to take an alternative route due to a traffic accident. The parent who checks that the bus is in a different direction calls up calls to find out what's happening and make sure your child is okay.
