Naturist holidays in Port Leucate, France

Have you ever had a disconcerting dream of finding yourself naked in a public place, for example on a street, bicycle, shop or public transport? If so, what happened in your dream? You wondered if you got in the position, you were embarrassed, or did you think it was just a dream, so it does not matter?

If you had such dreams and did not practice naturism, then you would sometimes be attracted to it.

Each year thousands of families spend their holidays between April and October in one of the naturist villages between the ancient Mediterranean town of Leucate and the Port Leucate seaside resort and marina.

Villages are mostly traffic-free, but they can walk or bicycle as everyone is completely naked. There is a small shopping mall with a very good bake, where fresh croissants, breads and so on. You can buy, buy in the shop, buy from a butcher's shop, a wine shop or a newsstand and have a drink or a meal at one of the small restaurants during each stay.

These forks, which include Aphrodite and Oasis, were created after the 1960s Tourism Committee set up by President Charles de Gaulle. The government has sought to attract thousands of holidaymakers to France and not to go to Spain and not to seek a seaside resort.

Leucate's old town lies between the Mediterranean Sea and the Great Saltwater Lagoon. In the southern part of the city there is a narrow strip that is several kilometers long between the sea and the lagoon. Six kilometers south was an old settlement, and the Commission was here, suggesting a new development for Port Leucate with a marina, shopping center and holiday accommodation. Work started in the mid-1960s and de Gaulle visited the ongoing work in 1967. Following his visit, the committee was asked to address the future of the beautiful seaside section just north of the new Port Leucate resort. At that time, the practice and tolerance of naturism in France were becoming more common and there were already several naturist destinations, including a large naturist holiday complex Montalivet on the Atlantic coast, north of Bordeaux.

The strand of the examined beach is on one side of the Mediterranean Sea and the Leucate Lagoon, and is essentially an island, as two canals are connected to the lagoon to the north and south. It was there that he decided to make it an ideal venue for a naturist seaside resort that is limited to residents and holidaymakers.

Instead of creating only one campsite with mobile homes and campsites, he decided to create a real village with homes, apartments, tennis courts, swimming pools and a shopping mall. They worked out plans and started working in 1973. The years have passed and the development has continued and there are now 8 small villages that are adjacent to the coast or the lagoon. Many real estates have permanent residency, but most of them are for owners of naturist holiday homes. Most areas are just pedestrians, so kids can play, run around, or ride bikes safely.

During the time of the year there is a fairly strong wind blowing from the area, making the area one of the most popular areas of wind and kite surfing.

An advantage of the area that is perfect for family vacations is among other activities, short distances from naturist villages. Less than 10 minutes' drive away you will find a large water center with several pools and giant slides. In the nearby pine forest, there is also an adventure center where you can climb and slide on the trees for all ages. There is also a casino and a new cinema complex nearby. From the village you can see the Pyrenees and from the fall to the spring the snow can be seen on the highest peaks. As they are on the verge of the Pyrenees, of course, they are passing along the magnificent countryside. About 35 minutes drive is the great Sigean African reserve, which is both impressive for adults and children. One part can only be reached by car, as there are many animals in the natural environment, including lions. Then there is another section that can be visited on foot, which contains many birds, monkeys, antelopes, elephants and many other creatures.

This area is one of the sunniest in France, so of course one of the most popular activities is just relaxing on the beach right next to the apartments and sometimes a little siesta dreams of being naked public.
