The weekend getaway to Redang Island, the renowned Summer Holiday Resort, started off with a twelve-hour bus from the north to Trengganu, Malaysia. From there I had to wait an hour while the ferry was in. But I was still restless with the thoughts of white sandy beaches and crystal clear water. In the middle of the road I gave up trying to sleep and joined several other tourists on board, enjoying the windy ocean breeze. As we slowly became cloudy on the pier, the perceptible spirit of enthusiasm broke out among the passengers – we arrived.
Redang Island is defective for crystal clear waters, white sand beaches and tropical fish living in many coral reefs. Based on only 7 km long and 6 km wide measurements, this island paradise is the largest of the nine Redang Island clusters. This is the most popular destination for Malaysian and Singaporeans, where most travel packages offer a three-day, two-night stay, just the right time to spend here. The island is very low in sights so most visitors can spend their time relaxing on the beach or exploring the coral.
The streets in the middle of the island connect the airport, the pier, the two resorts and the southern fishing port, but they do not connect elsewhere. Most resorts provide tourists with their own means of transport outside, but it would be almost impossible to explore the other side of the island. There was no room for exploration, for wandering, for a remote location abroad. Instead, I got stuck in my own resort, just being able to enjoy the services available.
But once I would recognize this point because I've been enjoying it for a long time. The defective beach is not disappointed with smooth, soft white sand and crystal clear ocean water. Snorkeling is a popular activity, and I did not have to go on a boat trip to enjoy coexistence with fish. Enjoy bread for fish and you are very close to the beach. In addition to multiple initiators, there are different dive sites. Several such sites are a rather new diving destination, the visit restrictions only lived in 1999. It will be visible in deep clean waters, though visibility can dramatically decrease after a storm.
At night, the Redang Light Sky offers breathtaking views of countless glories. I put it on cool sand and my eyes are aligned with darkness and cover more stars. Thousands and thousands. Another way to get here is to relax the night. This island is a place to rest, to escape the ninety-five numbness and just to spend your time. There is not much to see or to do, but for those who know what they want, this may be perfect for this many necessary summer escape.
