Ukrainian migration flows

The Ukrainian capital – Kiev has lost its appeal to migrants, which has shown trends in recent years. But still the leading city in the influx of the population, its pace is slowing down. Life in Kiev is very expensive. Many people can not afford the rent. Ukrainians are not satisfied with increasing number of transport problems in Kiev. Some people move to cities such as Odessa, Lviv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, which offer a similar standard of living at a more favorable price.

The most attractive area for Ukrainian foreigners is Odessa. The population of Odessa grew by 12,000 foreign citizens. For other cities and territories, this number is 0.5-1.5 thousand migrants annually. The city combines the benefits of a resort town with the facilities of a large administrative center. Odessa, in addition to Kiev and Kharkiv famous educational institutions. There are plenty of students from China and other third world countries. Crime is another resort that contributes to migration, but it is also expensive.

Other attractive areas for immigrants in Ukraine are adjacent to Russia, Kharkiv and Donetsk. The majority of migrants here are Russians. For example, Kharkiv brings together people with jobs and, as mentioned earlier, in many educational institutions.

In Ukraine, according to statistics from the Ukrainian state statistical committee, most people in Ukraine are running out. In particular, the Ukrainians are not satisfied with the living conditions of Kyrovograd, Luhansk and Kherson oblasti (the eastern and central Ukraine). Small town people can not find work there. To find new opportunities, many people go to the Russian Federation. In western Ukraine, the main areas of population density are Khmelnitsk, Lviv and Chernihiv oblasts. Many of these regions are looking for better jobs for Ukraine and abroad – in the EU.
